Translator Qualifications

All of PALS for Health’s translators are carefully selected. Typically the backgrounds of our translators include highly educated individuals with diverse professional and para-professional backgrounds, including business, education, law, health and social services. Each translator’s bilingual verbal and written fluency are assessed through a thorough and intensive screening process. Please see our section on Language Assessment for more information.

In addition to our intensive screening process, all translators must complete our in-house 8-hour translation training with a score of 80% or higher. As a strong supporter of continuing education and in ensuring that our translators have the most up-to-date information on translation skills and health and/or specialized topics, all PALS for Health’s translators are required to regularly attend refresher course on language techniques as well as other continuing education courses.
