INTERPRETATION SERVICES

PALS for Health is a recognized leader in full-service multilingual interpretation services.

With over 20 years of experience PALS for Health provides high quality and timely language services that are always linguistically and culturally appropriate. Our one-of-a-kind community based mobile interpreting service delivers quality interpretation services throughout Southern California.

Verbal interpretation services falls into two main categories - consecutive and simultaneous/conference.
  • Consecutive Interpreting most common in medical interpreting.  Involves the interpreter interpreting what the   speaker says after a short delay. Even though it is more time consuming, this mode of interpreting is generally more accurate and causes the least confusion.
  • Simultaneous Interpretation is one of the most demanding and highly skilled professions. It requires the interpreter to speak contemporaneously with the speaker whose statements are being heard. Consequently, very few individuals reach the level of professional conference interpreter. Simultaneous interpretation is utilized in meetings, conferences, training seminars, and medical emergencies where the prime concern is "effective and immediate" communication between individuals who don’t speak the same language or come from the same culture. PALS for Health is one of the few language providers with the ability to provide skilled and experienced simultaneous interpretation. Our simultaneous interpreters have extensive experience and professional certification(s).

Health Care Interpreting is a specialized arena in which PALS for Health has become well known.  Without the ability to communicate effectively or understand medical information, limited English proficient (LEP) individuals and families face tremendous barriers in accessing health care services. In compliance with federal laws and regulations regarding healthcare many clinics and hospitals have begun to incorporate language services into their daily operations.

While PALS for Health specializes in health related matters our trained interpreters are often requested for almost any type of arena or topic – including but not limited to nonprofit services, education, small business and more. Please contact us to provide the services you need.
